Our Missions

How We serve

The way we share God’s love is by serving others. We can serve by helping to meet immediate needs of our brothers and sisters rooted our community.“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25: 35-36) Exton UMC  supports both community and worldwide ministries through monthly offerings and hands on mission. We continue to send members into mission every year. We have sent teams to Pittsburgh, have sent three mission envoys to South Africa (Hope Village) and summer trips to Coatesville (Good Works, Inc.).

Every 4th Saturday of the month a team of volunteers serves with Good Works, a Christian organization serving the Coatesville community with home repairs. If you would like to volunteer to help or have questions, please contact Dawn Hartman. For more information regarding Good Works please visit www.goodworksinc.org

We have partnered with Parkesburg Point to help mentor and serve at risk youth in the city of Parkesburg. For more information as to how you can help with this mission please contact Matt Ostrowski.

Our church as given away over 165 prayer shawls to people in need. These shawls are an outreach ministry to our extended community which allows us to show the love of Christ to those who need a personal touch. If you know of someone in need of a prayer shawl or would like to knot or crochet a shawl, please contact Jan Moore. Donations of yarn and gift bags are also a great way to get involved. Please contact Linda Brower for additional details on this ministry. or for overall information, visit www.shawlministry.com
