Exton UMC - News for the week starting February 16

  • Inclement Weather Notification: Worship is a very important part of the life of our faith community and we will make every effort to remain open for our worship services. In the event that we have to cancel the worship service due to inclement weather, we will send notifications via email, website, and Facebook by 8:00 a.m. on Sunday Morning. Drive safe during these winter months!.

    • Bible Explorers - After 40: Ready for Action. 8:40 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Join us in Fellowship Hall each Sunday 
    • ‘After 40: Ready for Action’ is a 7-session DVD Lenten Bible Study featuring Elders from the UMC Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. Study participants will journey through the stories in the Bible where the number 40 is prominent feature – where God’s people go through a period of trial, effort or temptation to be prepared for a better Kingdom to come. Open to all, join our Bible Explorers Sunday mornings 8:40-9:40 am, Fellowship Hall.

Save the Date

  • Saturday Evening Life Groups  We will meet at 5:00 in Fellowship Hall, for a potluck dinner, before the adults break off for the book study for about an hour.  Babysitting will be provided. This group has traditionally been “families with young children” but anyone is welcome to join us. For more info please contact Lori Ostrowski or Megan Jerabek.
  • Good Works day is Saturday February 24th. Adult volunteers of all skill levels are always welcome and if you would like to help, please contact Dave Dexter @610-458-5042. Another way to help is by preparing lunch for the work crew. If you would like to help with lunch, there is a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the Narthex.   • Women’s Retreat Friday March 9th at 7:00 pm - Saturday March 10th at 4:00.  We hope you can join us for a weekend full of fun, food, faith, and friends!  The retreat is being held in the mansion at St. Mary of Providence. Cost $145 which includes meals. More info to follow including signup sheet for choice of bedroom in the mansion.  RSVP to Linda Dexter. Please do not let finances stop you from attending, financial aid is available.  Please contact Linda Dexter for more information.
  • South District 2018 Tools for Ministry, Saturday, March 10, 2018 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Innabah Program Center, 712 Pughtown Rd., Spring City, PA 19475. Serving Opportunities

  • The Mission’s Committee is looking for some new volunteers. If you would like to become involved with Missions or learn about what Missions the Church supports, please contact Gretchen Streuli at 610-906-0711
  • Choir & Praise Band. We are looking for singers and musicians to join the choir & praise band. If you are interested in joining, please contact Joe Gehring or Jeff Beideman. All are welcome to join!
  • Sunday school teachers and assistants are needed to help out 1 Sunday a month. This is a stress free commitment, all the curriculum and supplies are prepared for  you, you just need to teach!  If you would like to help out or have any questions, please contact Andy Serkes at 610-291-0568.
