Exton UMC - News for the week starting November 17

    • Bible Explorers - Resilient. 8:40 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. in the Youth Room. Join us for Sheridan Voysey’s 6-session DVD study ‘Resilient’.  Based upon Christ’s ‘Sermon on the Mount’, Sheridan shares intriguing stories and personal experiences underscored with Scripture.  Find how you can be confident in your faith and bounce back from hardships when you bring Jesus into every aspect of your life.  Meets every Sunday morning in the Youth room in the Gym.
    • Stewardship Cards We will respond to God’s faithfulness by making our financial covenant with God through the church for the coming year. Prayerfully consider filling out the pledge cards and bring them to church this Sunday.   Additional cards are available in the Narthex.

Save the Date

  • Saturday Evening Life Groups This fall the group will be studying "Life is ______.: God’s Illogical Love Will Change Your Existence” by Judah Smith.  There is a video so reading ahead is not required.   We will meet at 5:00 in Fellowship Hall, for a potluck dinner, before the adults break off for the book study for about an hour.  Babysitting will be provided. This group has traditionally been “families with young children” but anyone is welcome to join us. For more info please contact Lori Ostrowski or Megan Jerabek.
  • The Admin Council is meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 21st, 7:00 p.m. in Rm. 15. 
  • Learn about Great Beginnings Kindergarten! An information meeting about the Kindergarten program will be held on Wed. Nov. 29th at 7:00 PM
  • Hanging of the Greens: Helping hands are needed Saturday, Nov. 26th at 9:00 a.m. to help decorate the Sanctuary/Narthex for Advent and Christmas. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

  • Fellowship Sunday December 3 - 1st Sunday in Advent

On Fellowship Sunday, we will celebrate the start of the Church Year!

  • We will meet in the CLC for Worship, the Lord’s Supper and a Meal.
  • Everything begins at 10 am as usual.  The Meal will be Crock Pot Luck.

There are two ways you can sign up if you can bring food. (Everyone is welcome whether you sign up to bring food or not!) Just come!

  • 1. You can sign up at the Crock Pot in the Lobby to bring a Crock Pot Meal.
  • 2. Or you can sign up at the Salad Bowl to bring Salad or Dessert.

Serving Opportunities

  • The Mission’s Committee is looking for some new volunteers. If you would like to become involved with Missions or learn about what Missions the Church supports, please contact Gretchen Streuli at 610-906-0711
  • Choir & Praise Band. We are looking for singers and musicians to join the choir & praise band. If you are interested in joining, please contact Joe Gehring or Jeff Beideman. All are welcome to join!
  • Sunday school teachers and assistants are needed to help out 1 Sunday a month. This is a stress free commitment, all the curriculum and supplies are prepared for  you, you just need to teach!  If you would like to help out or have any questions, please contact Andy Serkes at 610-291-0568.
